18 May 2005—Acting Foreign Affairs Secretary Jose S. Brillantes receives H. E. Wijekoon Mudiyanselage Senevirathna, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary-designate of Sri Lanka, during the latter’s traditional courtesy call at the DFA.   Ambassador-designate Senevirathna presented an open copy of his Letters of Credentials to Acting Secretary Brillantes and requested that arrangements be made for the presentation of his Credentials to H.E. President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo. The Ambassador-designate replaces H.E. Ariya Bandara Rekawa who concluded his tour-of-duty in Manila on 25 April 2005.   He was accompanied during the call by Mr. W.M. Dharmapala, the Deputy Chief of Mission. (Mark Santos)
