PHILEMB RIYADH RECOGNIZES 6 FILIPINO NURSES ENTRUSTED WITH CARING FOR LATE KING FAHD

8 November 2005 – Philippine Ambassador to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) Bahnarim A. Guinomla reported the Department of Foreign Affairs that the Embassy recognized six Filipino nurses who demonstrated world-class skill and professionalism in attending to the late King Fahad Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud who died on 1 August 2005.

Ambassador Guinomla said that the six nurses were among those entrusted with the critical care of His Majesty at the King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Center during his last days.  They were:

1. Jenny Tordil, BSN RN, MSICU
2. Penny Igaya, BSN RN, MSICU
3. Jenny Bautista, BSN RN, MSICU
4. Malou Prudente, BSN RN, Assistant Head Nurse, MSICU
5. Delia Carlos, BSN RN, Assistant Head Nurse, MSICU
6. Alina Articulo, BSN RN, CCRN Head Nurse, MSICU
The nurses were recognized during the 5th Anniversary celebration of the Filipino Nurses Society in Saudi Arabia (FILNASA) and its 3rd Annual Symposium entitled “Professional Development: Surviving the Challenges of the 21st Century” held at the Embassy Chancery on 29 September 2005.  END
