PITOY MORENO DESIGNED-DOLL BINIBINING PILIPINA SUPPORTS UNICEF’S ADOPT A DOLL AND SAVE A CHILD PROJECT

17 October
2005 – Pitoy Moreno donated his exquisitely designed Binibining Pilipina
doll as the Philippine’s support for the fund raising campaign of the Czech
Republic for the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) Adopt a Doll and
Save a Child project. Philippine Ambassador to Prague Carmelita
R. Salas made representations to the preeminent Philippine fashion designer
Jose “Pitoy” Moreno to donate the doll both to show solidarity with UNICEF
in this worthy humanitarian project and to introduce the Philippine fashion
industry to the Czech scene. Ambassador Salas reported that
the Binibining Pilipina doll fetched about US$1,300 at the auction
held on 12 October 12005 in Prague for the UNICEF vaccination campaign.
The Pinoy Moreno doll is among the top three highest auctioned dolls,
with dolls from the Italian House of Prada and Israel’s fashion house Michal
Negrin.
