SECRETARY ROMULO, JAPANESE AMBASSADOR YAMAZAKI OFFER TOAST
DURING THE LAUNCHING OF THE STEERING COMMITTEE OF THE PHILIPPINES-JAPAN FRIENDSHIP YEAR

24 October 2005 -- Foreign Affairs Secretary Alberto G. Romulo and Ambassador of Japan Ryuichiro Yamazaki offer a toast at the successful launching on 1 September 2005 of the Steering Committee of the Philippines-Japan Friendship Year to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the normalization of diplomatic relations in 2006.   The launching ceremony featured an "Evening of Friendship with Performance by Noh Master Naohiko Umewaka & Filipino Artists" held at the Official Residence of the Japanese Ambassador in Forbes Park, Makati.
