DFA BRIEFS OFW JANE LAPUEBLA’S MOTHER, COMPANION BEFORE THEIR TRIP TO SINGAPORE

22 September 2005 – Foreign Affairs Undersecretary Jose S. Brillantes (1st R) briefs Ms. Paulina G. Ulay (2nd L), mother of slain OFW Jane Parañgan Lapuebla, and Ms. Josephine O. Nuestro (1st L), representative of a Singapore-based church organization and Ms. Ulay’s traveling companion, shortly before their departure for Singapore to pay their last respects to Jane.  Undersecretary Brillantes informed them that they would be met upon their arrival in Singapore by Ambassador Belen F. Anota of the Philippine Embassy, and would be updated on the status of the case.  Undersecretary Brillantes also said that the Embassy is ready to offer them further assistance during their stay at the city-state. With Ms. Ulay and her companion are Mr. Dante Jimenez of the Volunteers Against Crime and Corruption (3rd L) and Mr. Poe Gratela of the Office of External Affairs (2nd R). (Tony Bosa)
