LIBYA CONFIDENT IN SUCCESS OF RP PEACE EFFORTS; REITERATES COMMITMENT TO SUPPORT PEACE PROCESS

19 September 2005, United Nations, New York – Foreign Affairs Secretary Alberto G. Romulo and Libyan Foreign Minister Abdurrahman Mohamed Shalgham meet at the United Nations.  During their meeting, Minister Shalgam expressed confidence in the success of the peace talks with the MILF and reiterated Libya’s support for these talks.  Minister Shalgam also said that Libya strongly support the OIC Observer bid of the Philippines.
