DFA SENDS FAMILY OF SLAIN OFW JANE LAPUEBLA TO SINGAPORE
21 September 2005 – Foreign Affairs Undersecretary for Migrant Workers’ Affairs Jose S. Brillantes today announced that the Department of Foreign Affairs will be sending Mr. Crusaldo Lapuebla, husband of slain OFW Jane Parañgan Lapuebla, Jane’s aunt-guardian Ms. Sally Parañgan, and Jane’s mother Ms. Paulina G. Ulay to Singapore tomorrow afternoon to pay their last respects to Jane.
Undersecretary Brillantes said that the Mr. Lapuebla and Ms. Parañgan will be accompanied by Mr. Dante Jimenez of the Volunteers Against Crime and Corruption, while Ms. Ulay will be accompanied by a representative of a church-based non-government organization. They will leave for Singapore via Singapore Airlines flight SQ 73 departing Manila at 2:15 p.m.
The Undersecretary added that Dr. Raquel Fortun of the Philippine General Hospital, one of the pathologists the Philippines is sending to observe the autopsy to be performed on OFW Jane, will also leave for Singapore on the same flight. Dr. Fortun joins Dr. Cesar Bisquera of the National Bureau of Investigation and Atty. Claro de Castro, NBI Interpol Executive Director, who both left for Singapore on Tuesday, 20 September 2005.

that the Department and the Philippine Embassy in Singapore are likewise
continuously extending assistance to the accused OFW Guen Garlejo Aguilar,
as well as to her family. END
