PHILIPPINE SOUTH SEA PEARLS SHOWCASED AT HONGKONG JEWELRY & WATCH FAIR
28 September 2005 – Consul Ma. Theresa B. Dizon-de Vega, Acting Head of Post of the Philippine Consulate General in Hong Kong, reported to the Department of Foreign Affairs that Jewelmer International Corporation – the Philippines’ largest producer of south sea pearls – hosted a fashion-jewelry show on 24 September 2005 at the Hong Kong International Jewelry and Watch Fair
Consul de Vega said “these annual presentations firmly establish the Philippines as the best source of rare, natural golden south sea pearls.”
The fashion-jewelry show entitled “The Ultimate Orient” was one of the gala events at the Fair, the largest jewelry trade fair in Asia that ran from 21 – 25 September 2005 and had over 1,900 exhibitors from 47 countries.
Consul de Vega reported that that Mr. Manuel Cojuangco, Jewelmer International President and Mr. Jacques Branellec, the company's Managing Director, were on hand to welcome guests to the standing-room only fashion show.
The Jewelmer show had the theme "The Four Elements: Earth, Wind, Fire and Water," inspired by nature's four basic energies. The pearl jewelry displayed during the show was inspired by these four elements and complemented by the dresses designed by renowned Filipino designer Rhett Eala. Top Filipino models donned the latest Jewelmer collection in a visually stunning presentation directed by Mr. Robbie Carmona with choreography by popular Filipino dancer Mr. Douglas Nierras.
Consul de Vega said Jewelmer
has been actively promoting the warm, natural colors and the outstanding
quality of Philippine south sea pearls through yearly jewelry-cum-fashion
shows held in major international jewelry fairs in Basel, Paris, Tokyo,
and Hong Kong. END
