FIVE PNP OFFICERS IN PEACEKEEPING MISSION IN TIMOR LESTE RECEIVE UN SPECIAL SERVICE MEDALS
18 April 2006 — Philippine Ambassador to Dili, Timor-Leste Farita A. Aguilucho-Ong reported to the Department of Foreign Affairs that five Philippine National Police officers were decorated with the prestigious United Nations Special Service Medal at a special presentation ceremony held on 7 April 2006 at the Obrigado Barracks, Headquarters of the UN Office in Timor-Leste (UNOTIL).
Ambassador Ong said the awarded PNP officers are Edgar Layon, Contingent Commander and Training Coordinator; Pedrito delos Reyes, Professional Ethics Advisor; Jose Molava Duenas, Professional Ethics Advisor and Team Leader; Joseph Pangilinan, Border Patrol Advisor in Oecussi and Team Leader; and Celso Destajo, also a Border Patrol Advisor in Oecussi.
The Ambassador explained that these PNP officers are all part of the UNOTIL Contingents that included nationals of seven countries, namely, Australia, Bangladesh, China, Malaysia, Palau, Russian Federation, and Samoa.

only the resident ambassadors of Australia, China, and the Philippines
attended the ceremony. END
