4 January 2006 – Foreign Affairs Secretary Alberto G. Romulo offers a toast to H.E. Ambassador U Thaung Tun on the occasion of the 58th Independence Day of the Union of Myanmar.    Ambassador Tun hosted a diplomatic reception at the Grand Ballroom of the Hotel Intercontinental, Makati City, which was attended by the members of the Diplomatic Corps headed by Archbishop Antonio Franco (R ), Apostolic Nuncio and Dean of the Corps. In congratulating Myanmar on its 58th Independence Day, Secretary Romulo also noted that “we are also celebrating the 50th anniversary of the relations between the Philippines and the Union of Myanmar.
