10 January 2006 – Philippine Ambassador to Santiago, Chile Maria Consuelo Puyat Reyes leads Embassy personnel in commemorating the 109th anniversary of the martyrdom of Dr. Jose Rizal at the Plaza Filipinas in Las Condes last December 30.  The day’s events included the singing of the Philippine national anthem, a wreath-laying activity and special words from Ambassador Puyat Reyes on the life and legacy of Dr. Rizal.  The plaza, which was inaugurated in May 1989, is the site of the bust of the Philippine national hero.   Joining Ambassador Puyat Reyes are Minister and Consul General Edgar Manuel, Third Secretary and Consul Emil Fernandez and the family members of the Embassy officials.
