PHILIPPINE EMBASSY IN CANBERRA COMMEMORATES RIZAL DAY

10 January 2006 – Philippine Ambassador to Canberra, Australia Cristina Ortega leads the Embassy officers and staff during the simple flag-raising and wreath-laying ceremonies in the commemoration of the 109th Anniversary of the Martyrdom of Dr. Jose Rizal on 29 December 2005 at the Embassy grounds. Some members of the Filipino community in Canberra joined the Embassy personnel to pay tribute to Rizal’s heroism.
