ROMULO WELCOMES JAPANESE VICE-MINISTER FOR FOREIGN AFFAIRS,
DISCUSSES
EVENTS TO CELEBRATE 50 YEARS OF RP-JAPAN RELATIONS

11 January 2006 – Foreign Affairs Secretary Alberto G. Romulo welcomes at his office in the DFA Japanese Senior Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs Yasuhisa Shiozaki, who called on the Secretary at the start of the year long events to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the Normalization of Diplomatic Relations between the Philippines and Japan. Vice-Minister Shiozaki is in the Philippines to grace the official opening event of the Philippines-Japan Friendship Year, the “Taiko! Tambol!” concert at the CCP. Secretary Romulo and Vice-Minister Shiozaki expressed their enthusiasm for the recently-launched Philippines-Japan Friendship Year and looked forward to witnessing the various activities to celebrate this event.
