PHILIPPINE AMBASSADOR TO BRAZIL TERESITA BARSANA HOLDS TALKS WITH PRESIDENT LULA

January 2006 – Philippine Ambassador Teresita V.G. Barsana meets with Brazilian
President Luis Inacio Lula da Silva after the presentation of her credentials
at the Presidential Palace in Brasilia on 12 January 2006. Both officials
expressed optimism on the state of RP-Brazil relations particularly noting
the increasing volume of trade between the two countries. They noted the
importance of greater official exchanges in moving bilateral relations
forward. Ambassador Barsana informed President Lula that the
Philippines expects the participation of high-level officials from the
Philippines in the FAO-sponsored International Conference on Agrarian Reform
and the FEALAC Ministerial Meeting to be hosted by Brazil this year.
