“PEOPLE AT THE CENTER OF
PHILIPPINE FOREIGN POLICY” -
SECRETARY ROMULO EXPLAINS
DFA BUDGET BEFORE SENATE

25 January 2006 – Foreign
Affairs Secretary Alberto G. Romulo explains to the Senate Committee of
the Whole the proposed 2006 budget of the DFA in the amount of PhP5.21
billion, which is .49% of the proposed National Budget of P.1.053 trillion.
In his presentation entitled “People at the Center of Philippine Foreign
Policy”, Secretary Romulo said the DFA carry out its task with the Filipino
at the heart and center of the three pillars of Philippine diplomacy –
Service Diplomacy, Political Diplomacy and Economic Diplomacy. Joining
Secretary Romulo at the budget hearing at the DFA Undersecretaries, Assistant
Secretaries and other key officials. Heading the Senate
budget hearing are Senate President Franklin Drilon and Senator Miriam
Defensor Santiago, Chair of the Senate Committee on Foreign Relations.
