PHILIPPINE EMBASSY IN TOKYO COMMEMORATES RIZAL DAY IN SIMPLE RITES

January 2006— Consul Eric Tamayo (1st row, 5th from L) leads the
Philippine Embassy in Tokyo officers and staff and the Filipino community
in the simple wreath-laying ceremony at the Rizal Shrine on 30 December
2005 in Hibiya Park in Tokyo to commemorate the national hero’s 109th Anniversary
of Martyrdom. The Embassy officials and the Chapter President of the Knights
of Rizal gave inspiring speeches to cite Rizal’s contribution to the country’s
independence.
