FILIPINO CREW MEMBERS OF UN CARGO PLANE ARE
UNHURT AFTER CRASH LANDING IN TANZANIA

July 2006 – The Philippine Embassy in Kenya reported to the Department of
Foreign Affairs that the five Filipino crewmembers of a UN cargo plane are
unhurt after their plane crash landed on Wednesday, 12 July 2006, at the Kigoma
Airport in Tanzania, near the capital Dar-es-Salaam. The airplane, a Lockheed
382, was owned by TransAfric Ltd., and was chartered by the UN for aid flights
into the Democratic Republic of Congo.
The
Embassy Officer-in-Charge Aurelio B. Bea said “all five Filipino crew members
were unhurt in the accident, and are safe.”
However, they lost all their documents when the airplane caught fire upon
landing. The Filipinos are:

Cris Dubalan.

Bea said the Embassy is extending all the assistance to the Filipinos for the
replacement of their passports.
