RECOGNITION OF GRADUATES IN LIVELIHOOD PROGRAMS HIGHLIGHTS NATIONAL DOMESTIC WORKERS’ DAY RITES IN BRUNEI

5 May 2006 - Philippine Ambassador Virginia H. Benavidez (center) poses with the officers and members of Philippine Institute of Certified Public Accountants (PICPA), Brunei Chapter, PICPA Chapter, Brunei after awarding a plaque of appreciation to PICPA President Nhomie Llena-Roxas for her valuable assistance in conducting the livelihood programs “How to Start Your Own Business and Become a Successful Entrepreneur” and “Basic Computer Literacy.” The event was witnessed by some of the 75 participants who successfully completed the Embassy’s livelihood programs.  The Recognition Ceremony, held at the “Ang Bahay” (Philippine Ambassador’s Official Residence) on 30 April 2006, gave an excellent opportunity for Ambassador Benavidez to honor Filipinos in Brunei involved in domestic work.   The ceremony coincided with the Philippines’ observance of National Domestic Workers’ Day where the Ambassador read the Labor Day Message of Secretary of Foreign Affairs Alberto G. Romulo.   Joining the Ambassador are Welfare Officer Marivic Garcia-Demingoy and Labor Attaché Aida M. Estabillo.
