philippines hosts asean-new zealand meetings

31 May 2006 – Foreign Affairs Assistant Secretary for ASEAN Affairs Luis T. Cruz (8th L) joins colleagues from New Zealand and ASEAN member-countries at the start of the 17th ASEAN-New Zealand Dialogue and the 10th ASEAN-New Zealand Joint Management Committee Meeting being held at the EDSA Shangri-La Hotel in Mandaluyong City on 31 May – 1 June 2006.  Assistant Secretary Cruz explained that during the meetings, ASEAN and New Zealand will exchange views on various regional and international issues affecting their regions, and the progress of development and technical cooperation extended by New Zealand to ASEAN.  Assistant Secretary Cruz, who is also the Director-General of the ASEAN-Philippines Secretariat, is joined by (L – R) Director-General Latif Tuah of Brunei Darussalam, Consul Nop Chanvannak of Cambodia, Director-General Dian Transyah Djani of Indonesia, Director-General Sayakane Sisouvong of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic, Director-General Hussein Haniff of Malaysia, Director-General Aung Bwa of Myanmar, New Zealand Foreign Affairs and Trade Deputy Secretary John McKinnon, Director-General Jacky Foo of Singapore, Director-General Nopadol Gunavibool of Thailand, Deputy Director-General Hoang Thi Ninh of Vietnam, and Principal Director Dhannan Sunoto of the ASEAN Secretariat.   (Photo by Tony Bosa, Jr.)
