PHILIPPINE CONSULATE GENERAL, GUAM PROMOTES ‘MAMA SITA’ PRODUCTS

05 May 2006 – The Philippine Consulate General in Guam reported to the Department of Foreign Affairs that in line with the world-wide promotion of Philippine-made products, the  Consulate gave full support for the eight-day marketing promotion of Mama Sita’s products in Guam.

Consul General Teresita L. Mendoza said Consul Raquel Solano and Trade and Culture Officer Silveria E. Lopez de Leon assisted her in organizing the activities for the marketing program held from 25 April 2006 to 02 May 2006.   Guam’s media and members of the business society including Guam Governor Paul Calvo, owner of Payless supermarkets, attended the event.

The program included a luncheon held at the Esmeralda Restaurant, Alupang Beach Tower that included special cooking demonstration featuring Filipino dishes using Mama Sita’s products.  The success of the promotional exhibition was made possible through the cooperation of the Pacific Rim Brokers, Ms. Jane Taguinod and Ms. Rachel Lapuz, Export Sales Manager and Research and Development Manager of Marigold Commodities Corporation, the manufacturer of Mama Sita’s products.

Consul General Mendoza added that other activities, such as food tasting and product sampling of dishes prepared with Mama Sita’s mixes and marinades, were also held on different dates at all Payless supermarkets in Guam. END
