Charge d’Affaires, a.i., Maria Lumen B. Isleta of the Philippine Embassy in
Perpetual trophies
are awarded to those who achieved the highest mark in the various dance
categories. HCSB also won 22 gold
trophies, 7 silver trophies, 3 bronze trophies and 8 medals during the two-day
competition.
Shirley Halili-Cruz,
artistic director and founder of the HCSB was visibly elated over the victory.
Guiding the school for 22 years since its inception in 1985, Ms. Cruz has
generously given her time and talent for the success of those enrolled in her
school The 124 dancers, whose ages
range from 8 to 16 years old, have done their school proud by winning in all
categories they entered. HCSB had 54
entries and they won the gold in the following categories:
Classical Solo (Open-Professional); Neo-Classical Solo
(Open-Professional); Modern Solo (Open-Professional); Groups
(Open-Professional); Groups under 16 – “Aniwana”; and Groups under 10 and
under 13 – National “Magtanim.”
