SFA-AGR-427-07 SPECIAL PRESIDENTIAL ENVOY TO THE MIDDLE EAST AMBASSADOR ROY A. CIMATU REVIEWS PREPAREDNESS PLAN WITH PHILIPPINE EMBASSY, ISRAEL
6 December 2007—Special Presidential Envoy to the Middle East Ambassador Roy A. Cimatu and Chargé d’Affaires Gilberto G.B. Asuque (left photo) look at the map of Israel during a review conducted last 20 November 2007 of the Embassy’s contingency plan in conflict scenarios. Ambassador Cimatu visited Israel and other Middle East countries pursuant to President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo’s directive to update the OFW Preparedness Plans under Executive Order no. 597. CDA Asuque presented the Embassy’s 2007 Contingency Plan as revised and discussed the geographical location of the Filipinos all over Israel. CDA Asuque also informed Ambassador Cimatu that the Embassy’s “text brigade” is still in place and Filipino focal persons in key towns and cities in Israel have been identified and updated.
