PHILIPPINE EMBASSY JOINS OFWs FOR CHRISTMAS DAY MASS IN BETHLEHEM 

27 December 2007 - Chargé d’Affaires Gilberto G.B. Asuque and Labor Attaché Merriam Cuasay led Philippine Embassy staff and their families in celebrating with over 3,000 Filipino Overseas Workers in Israel and the West Bank the Christmas Day Mass in Bethlehem, West Bank, Palestinian Authority.  Fr. Angelo Ison, Chaplain, and Fr. Ricardo Fernando, Vice Chaplain, Philippine Chaplaincy, concelebrated the Christmas Mass for the Filipino Community at the St. Catherine Chapel of the Nativity Church.  The Filipinos aboard  41 tourist buses crossed into the Palestinian Authority from Israel to celebrate Christmas Day in Bethlehem.   Reports indicated that about 50 percent of tourists that visited Bethlehem on Christmas Day were Filipinos.
