ASEAN FOUNDATION OFFERS SCHOLARSHIP GRANTS TO ASEAN NATIONALS

 

                                  

20 December 2007 - The Department of Foreign Affairs is inviting all interested Filipino nationals to apply for scholarship grants under the ASEAN Foundation Scholarships for Postgraduate Studies and funded through the Japan-ASEAN Solidarity Fund.

Ten (10) full scholarships will be given to ASEAN nationals who wish to pursue masters degrees in any of the following fields of studies in Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) in Thailand:

School of Environment, Resources and Development (SERD)

Interdisciplinary Programs

  • Cleaner Production
  • Integrated Tropical Coastal Zone Management
  • Integrated Watershed Development and Management
  • Modelling Tools in Environmental Resources and Management
  • Disaster Preparedness, Mitigation and Management

School of Engineering and Technology (SET)

Interdisciplinary Programs

  • Information and Communications Technologies (ICT)

To qualify, applicants must:

  • Be a bonafide ASEAN national;
  • Hold a bachelors degree (normally from a four-year program) or its equivalent in an appropriate field;
  • Have above average undergraduate grades (minimum CGPA of 2.75);
  • Satisfy other requirements to be specified by the applicant’s school of choice;
  • Submit official test score from any of the following standardized English exams: TOEFL, TOEIC, IELTS; and
  • Agree to return and/or serve for at least two years in any ASEAN countries after completion of their studies.

The scholarship grant includes tuition and academic fees and living allowances for two years. Deadline of submission for January 2008 applicants is on 21 December 2007. Deadline for August 2008 applicants is on 31 March 2008.
