CONSULATE GENERAL, LOS ANGELES CELEBRATES NATIONAL ARTS MONTH

February 2007 – Consul General Mary Jo Bernardo Aragon of the Philippine
Consulate General in Los Angeles reported to the Department of Foreign Affairs
that the Consulate featured video screenings at the Filipino-American Cultural
and Trade Exposition held on 17 February 2007 at the San Diego Concourse Hall in
celebration of the National Arts Month.
Some
5,000 attendees at the Expo availed of the following video screenings:
Documentary on Philippine Architecture, written and directed by Rodrigo D. Perez
III; Documentary on Philippine Dance, written by Basilio Esteban S. Villaruz and
directed by Ramon Obusan; Documentary on Philippine Visual Arts, written by
Alice G. Guillermo and directed by Lito Tiongson; and the Documentary on
Philippine Theater, written and directed by Nicanor G. Tiongson.
The
video screenings will be featured again at the Rizal Hall of the Philippine
Consulate General from 21 to 28 February 2007.
The
video screenings coincided with a consular outreach program in
