ORGANIZATIONS IN UAE DONATE US$32,000 FOR TYPHOON VICTIMS

January 2007 – Philippine Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Libran
N. Cabactulan reported to Foreign Secretary Alberto G. Romulo that three
organizations in the UAE donated a total of around US$32,000 (PhP1.565 Million)
for the victims of the typhoons that recently beset the Philippines.

Cabactulan said that the Red Crescent Society in the United Arab Emirates
contributed US$15,000 (AED55,090) as assistance to the victims while the Parish
of St. Joseph Catholic Church donated AED50,000 (US$13,614) intended for the
building of a classroom in the Bicol region.
Bicolnon, an association of Bicolanos in UAE, together with other Philippine community organizations in the country, likewise raised donations amounting to AED12,239 (US$3,333). END
