PHILIPPINE-GERMAN COMMUNITY DONATES US$6,000 FOR ‘REMING’ VICTIMS

January 2007 – Philippine Ambassador to Germany Delia Domingo-Albert reported
to Foreign Affairs Secretary Alberto G. Romulo that the Philippine-German
community donated US$6,000 (€4,562)
in response to the call for donations of the Embassy for the victims of Typhoon
‘Reming’ (International Name ‘Durian’) in Bicol.
The
amount was turned over by the Embassy, in coordination with the SVD Order in
Germany and in Bicol, to the Divine Word College of Legazpi City for the
mudslide victims in Sto. Domingo.
In
a Misa de Gallo pre-Christmas event of the Filipino-German Community in
the Holy Spirit Parish in Berlin, Ambassador Albert informed the community of
the extent of the damage caused by the typhoon and thanked the donors for
alleviating the suffering of the mudslide victims in Albay.
