EMBASSY, KUALA LUMPUR WELCOMES PROVINCIAL OFFICIALS
FROM MINDANAO ON STUDY
VISIT IN MALAYSIA

January 2007 — Chargé d’Affaires, a. i. (CDA) Antonio A. Morales of the
Philippine Embassy in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia welcomed on 17 January 2007 a
23-member delegation from the Provincial Board Members from Davao del Norte and
Zamboanga del Norte who are on a two-day study tour of Malaysia on 17 and 18
January 2007.
Embassy
officials gave to the visiting provincial officials a briefing on
Philippine-Malaysia relations and on Malaysia's government, economic programs
and socio-cultural systems. The briefing also included the situation of overseas
Filipino workers in Malaysia.
The
delegation is scheduled to call on the officials of the Local Government
Department, Ministry of Housing and Local Government, the Malaysian Parliament,
and the University of Malaya. The delegation will also visit places of interest
aimed at exposing the provincial officials to Malaysia's system of government,
its policies, and vast achievements as a rapidly developing country. The
delegation will proceed from Kuala
Lumpur to Singapore.
The
members of the visiting delegation from the Provincial Government of Davao del
Norte are Shirley Belen R. A-Ala, Meliton D. Lemos, Alan D. Zulueta, Macario A.
Bermudez, Emelita A. Alvarez, Hemanie L. Duco, Jose L. Silvosa, Sr, Franklin D.
Gentiles, Caspar R. Valera, Rogelio E. Israel, Nieljun Esdrelon, and Kim P.
Quesada.
The representatives from the Provincial Government of Zamboanga del Norte included Joseph Brendo C. Ajero, Norbideiri B. Edding, Felixberto C. Bolando, Anecito S. Darunday, Ediomar M. Zamoras, Uldarico B. Mejorada, Cedric L. Adriatico, Fernando R. Cabigon, Arasam A. Ismael, and Feriormino S. Cabale. Ms. Vivian Suansing, Chief, Bureau of Local Government Supervision, Department of Interior and Local Government, accompanied the delegation. END
