19 July 2007 — Philippine Ambassador to Brazil Teresita V. G. Barsana
reported to the Department of Foreign Affairs that the Embassy in
“Commemorative activities that are focused on attaining
solidarity and fellowship with the Filipino community aptly capture the essence
of this year´s theme ‘Sama-sama tayo
tungo sa pag-asenso,’” Ambassador Barsana said, adding, “the members
of the Filipino community in Brasilia, by no small measure, have demonstrated
that no matter how far they are from their motherland, their hearts remain
closely connected to the Philippines as manifested by their deep sense of love
for country.”

commemoration began with a flag-raising ceremony at the Embassy grounds in

da Măe e Rainha de Schoenstatt, a monastery run by German religious
