ASEAN Directors General hold Special Meeting in Davao  

30 March 2007 — Foreign Affairs Assistant Secretary for ASEAN Affairs and Philippine ASEAN Director General Luis T. Cruz announced that the Directors General of the ASEAN National Secretariats of Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia , Indonesia , Laos , Myanmar , Malaysia , Philippines , Singapore , Thailand and Vietnam met at the Marco Polo Hotel in Davao on 26 March 2006 for its annual Special Meeting.  

“The annual Special Meeting is held in addition to the four regular meetings of the ASEAN Standing Committee (ASC), which is attended by the ASEAN Directors General. The ASC tackles day to day issues of the ASEAN in-between Summits.  The Special Meetings of the ASEAN Directors General are usually reserved for important policy issues affecting the Association,” explained Assistant Secretary Cruz, who chaired the Meeting.  END
