EMBASSY AND POLO DELIVER CONSULAR
ASSISTANCE
TO OFWs IN KIBUTZ KFAR HANASSI

8 November 2007—Charge d’
Affairs a.i. and Consul General Gilberto Asuque (5TH from left) leads
Embassy and Philippine Overseas Labor Office officials in extending consular
assistance to OFWs working in a kibutz in Kfar Henassi,north of Israel. Vice
Consul Thaddeus Hamoy (middle standing), Labor Attache Merriam Cuasay (3rd
from left) and Welfare Officer Zenobia Caro (far left) join the Embassy/POLO
team in explaining to the OFWs the various assistance for OFWs. The team also
reestablished cellphone links with the OFWs to update the Embassy’s contingency
plan. There are 6 OFWs working as caregivers in the Kibutz. The OFWs informed
the Embassy/POLO team that they are happy with their current working condition
and their relations with the employers and the recruitment agency. The team gave
the OFWs the contact numbers of the Embassy for any assistance they may need.
