PHILIPPINE NEGOTIATING PANEL
FOR RP-ISRAEL SOCIAL SECURITY
15 November 2007—Charge d’ Affaires a.i. and Head of the Philippine Negotiating Panel Gilberto G.B. Asuque (3rd from right) and SSS Executive Vice President and Chief Negotiator Horacio T. Templo (2nd from right) meet with National Insurance Institute (NII) Director Jacob Sasporta, Head of the Israeli Negotiating Panel (2nd from left) for the 2nd round of the discussions to finalize the text of the Philippines-Israel Social Security Agreement which was initiated by Israel. The Agreement, first for the Philippines with a Middle Eastern Country, aims to provide social safety nets for OFWs who are working in Israel and Israelis working in the Philippines in terms of medical coverage for work-related diseases and injuries, maternity benefits and other social security benefits.
