RP DIPLOMAT RECEIVES ASEAN EXECUTIVE AWARD 

15 November 2007 – The Philippine Consulate General in Manado reported to the Department of Foreign Affairs that Consul General Olivia Palala was conferred the ASEAN Best Executive 2007 Award by the International Human Resources Development Program, in fitting ceremonies held at the Ritzy Hotel in Manado on 09 November 2007.

The International Human Resources Development Program is a local NGO and a non-profit organization aimed at developing the human resources of Indonesia. Its headquarters is located in Jakarta, with a small extension office in Manado City, within the Sam Ratulangi University campus.

According to Mr. Rudolf de Fretes, General Chairman of the organization, Mrs. Palala was chosen by a group of observers who have been monitoring her activities and the conduct of her work in promoting bilateral relations between Indonesia and the Philippines, particularly in southern Philippines and eastern Indonesia.

She also has maintained excellent relations with the Office of the Governor, the Regional Police of North Sulawesi, the Indonesian Navy Lantamal VIII, and various local governments under Post’s  jurisdiction.   

Mr. Ricko Giroth, an Indonesian national and President Commissary of the MKP Group of Companies also received the Asean Best Executive Award 2007.

The Indonesian NGO gives out annual awards under the following category Most Outstanding Man/Woman of North Sulawesi, Woman Motivator for Indonesian Development Award, International Best Leadership Award, and ASEAN Best Executive Award.  END
