GERMANY’S CANDIDATE FOR MISS EARTH 2007 VISITS PHILIPPINE EMBASSY BONN EO

24 October 2007—The Philippine Embassy in Bonn EO reported to the Department of Foreign Affairs that Ms. Sinem Ramazanoglu, Germany’s candidate for Ms. Earth 2007 came to the Embassy Bonn Extension Office to personally secure her visa and get some information about the Philippines. She was received by Consul Edgar Tomas Q. Auxilian, OIC of Bonn EO, who gladly answered some of her questions and gave her some tips on favorite tourism destinations in the Philippines. Consul Auxilian also provided her some tourism information materials. According to Ms. Ramazanoglu, she wants to contribute something for the cause of the environment and that was why she decided to join the search for Ms. Earth 2007. It will be her first time to travel to the Philippines and she is excited to join the beauty pageant to be held at the UP Theater on 11 November. When asked about her first impression of the Philippines, she said that based on what she knew, “Filipinos are very friendly people” and she wants to experience it herself when she is in the Philippines. She also expressed a wish to visit one of the warm and beautiful white sand beaches of the country. A student of business administration in Germany, Ms. Ramazanoglu was born on 14 July 1983 in Cologne City to Turkish parents. She left for Manila last Sunday, 21 October 2007.
