SFA-AGR-808-07 26 OCT 2007 DFA DAY CARE CENTER CELEBRATES UNITED NATIONS WEEK
26 October 2007—The DFA Day Care Center held a United Nations Week Children’s Program on 25 October 2007 at the DFA Executive Lounge. Ramon Gaspar of the Office of ASEAN Affairs was the emcee for the event. The program was attended by Executive Director of the Office of United Nations and other International Organizations Grace Princesa, Executive Director of the Office of Personnel and Administrative Services (OPAS) Medardo Macaraig, Personnel Management Division Acting Director Arlene Tullid-Magno, Administrative Services Division Acting Director for Administrative Services Division-OPAS Jed Martin Llona, representatives from the different offices of the department, representatives from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), Land Bank of the Philippines, National Power Corporation (NAPOCOR), PhilHealth, Philippine Regulatory Commission (PRC), Adarna Books, parents and relatives of the children of the day care center, and other invited guests. Nathaniel de Ramos opened the program with the singing of the Philippine National Anthem while Patrician Sarion, a guest child host, delivered the invocation. Mr. Llona gave the Welcoming Remarks followed by a song number by the DFA-DCC children. Each child presented a number dressed in the national costume of some of the member countries of the United Nations. OPAS Executive Director Macaraig and Ms. Dimayuga presented the following special awards:

DSWD Director Thelsa Biolena commended the DFA Day Care Center for having successfully materialized the concepts of fun and learning though it has only been operational in June 2007. Executive Director Macaraig, in his Closing Remarks, revealed plans of future additions/expansions to the programs and facility of the center. |
