PHILIPPINE EMBASSY OFFICERS AND STAFF VISITS FILIPINO MUSLIM INMATES

31 October 2007 – Philippine Embassy Officers and Staff led by Ambassador Virginia Benavidez visited Filipino Muslim inmates at the Jarudong and Maburong prisons during Hari Raya Aidilfitri on 18 and 20 October 2007. The inmates were visibly delighted and emotionally touched by the visit.

Commencing in 2002, the Hari Raya visit became a yearly tradition which have brought cheers and comfort to the inmates. It is an opportune time to demonstrate compassion, share experiences, and be kept abreast of the humane conditions provided by the Brunei authorities at both prison sites for our less fortunate brothers.
