NO FILIPINO FATALITIES/CASUALTIES IN PLANE CRASH IN PHUKET  

17 September 2007 – The Philippine Embassy in Bangkok reported to the Department that there are no Filipinos among the fatalities and casualties in the One Two Go airline plane that crash landed in Phuket yesterday afternoon, according to the passenger manifest released by the airline and published in today’s The Nation on-line edition.

The budget airline was carrying 123 passengers, two pilots and five attendants from Bangkok .  It landed in heavy rain and strong wind and veered off the runway, before hitting an earth embankment, breaking into two and bursting into flames.  

Eighty-seven people were killed and 43 were injured.  There were 78 foreign nationals on board.  They were tourists from Australia , Austria , Britain , Iran , Ireland , Italy , Sweden , and the Netherlands .  END
