PCG NEW YORK JOINS ANNUAL WALK FOR   SAMAR PROVINCE

25 September 2007 – The Philippine Consulate General reported to the Department of Foreign Affairs that Philippine Consulate General officials led by Consul General Cecilia Rebong, Deputy Consul General Melita Sta. Maria Thomeczek, and Vice Consul Elena Maningat, joined Ms. Loudette Avelino of Building Futures Together, Inc., and the Philippine New York Jaycees (organizers of the event), in the 8th Annual Walk for Poverty Alleviation in Samar at Flushing Meadows, Queens, NY on 15 September 2007.

The 5-kilometer walk started at the Unisphere at the heart of the 1964 World’s Fair site and raise $3,000.00 to benefit the sewing center for mothers and literacy program for the children in Samar. END.
