AMBASSADOR PETRONILA GARCIA CALLS ON THE MAYOR OF TEL AVIV |

11 April 2008 – Philippine Ambassador to Israel Petronila P. Garcia pays a courtesy call on Hon. Ron Huldai, Mayor of Tel Aviv, on 09 April. During the call, Ambassador Garcia expressed her appreciation for the support of the Municipality of Tel Aviv to the Filipino foreign workers in Israel, particularly those working and living in Tel Aviv. In response, Mayor Huldai told the Ambassador that his office will be readily accessible to the Embassy for assistance in attending to the needs of the Filipino community. Approximately 25,000 OFWs reside in Tel Aviv, around 65% of the estimated 39,000 OFWs in Israel. Ambassador Garcia was accompanied by Third Secretary and Vice Consul Thaddeus T. Hamoy during the call. END
