AMBASSADOR GUINOMLA MEETS WITH TURKISH |
|
18 April 2008 – Philippine Ambassador to Turkey Bahnarim A. Guinomla met with senior officials of the Independent Industrialists and Businessmen’s Association (MUSIAD) in Istanbul last week to discuss the further intensification of relations between Filipino and Turkish businessmen.
Mr. Yusuf Cevahir, Vice Chairman of the Association, confirmed to Ambassador Guinomla the invitation extended by Dr. Omer Bolat, Chairman of MUSIAD, to Filipino businessmen to participate in the 12th International Trade Fair scheduled on 23-26 October at the Istanbul Fairs Center and the International Business Forum (IBF) to be conducted a day before the fair.
Mr. Cevahir also requested the Ambassador to recommend a senior economic or trade editor or reporter from the Philippines who could cover the events as guest of the Association.
The Fair and IBF, according to the Ambassador, are biennial events which attracted some 170,000 visitors and exhibitors representing 61 countries when it was last staged in 2006.
Mr. Guinomla also reported that if a good number from the Philippines will show up for the events, the hosts will offer them discounts on the cost of the booth and will be given the opportunity to make a presentation on doing business in their country.
Also present during the meeting were Mr. Hakan Kiyaci, director of foreign relations; and Mr. Sevker Can Tulumen, member of the Board and vice chairman of the foreign relations commission of MUSIAD. END |
