ATENEO DE MANILA STUDY TOUR CALLS ON THE PHILIPPINE CONSULATE GENERAL IN HAMBURG |

28 April 2008 – Consul General Armando B. Fernandez, Jr. reported to the Department of Foreign Affairs that a special group of eleven students studying the German language at the Ateneo de Manila University called on the Philippine Consulate General in Hamburg on 23 April 2008. They will be in Hamburg until 27 April 2008 to undergo a language and culture program in cooperation with the Carl Duisberg Gesselschaft.
The group leader, Mr. Christa Velasco, Chair of the Ateneo Department of Modern Languages, noted that the trip, which is the first of its kind for the university, should motivate the students to appreciate better the German language and the culture that it represents.
Indeed, every student has an interesting tale to tell why they chose to study German instead of Spanish or French. END
