AMBASSADOR TORRES PRESENTS COPY OF CREDENTIALS TO JORDAN'S MINISTRY OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS |

28 February 2008 - Photo shows Ambassador Julius D. Torres handing over a copy of his Letter of Credence to Secretary General Khaldoun Al-Talhouni at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Amman, Jordan.
Ambassador Torres arrived in Amman from Manila on 20 February.
In Jordan, an Ambassador may start performing his official duties and attend official meetings and functions after presenting a copy of his credentials to the Jordanian Foreign Ministry. Except receptions hosted by the Royal Court.
Ambassador Torres is scheduled to present the original copy of his credentials to His Majesty King Abdullah II on 11 March at the Royal Court.
Ambassador Torres said his priority is to help distressed OFWs in Jordan and to repatriate at the soonest time possible the more than 160 runaways temporarily sheltered at the Filipino Workers Resource Center (FWRC) in Amman. END
