DFALA – AMMAN CHAPTER JOINS CHARITY BAZAAR

 FOR THE DISABLED

04 January 2008 - Photo shows Ambassador Jose P. Del Rosario, Jr. welcoming Prince Raad Bin Zeid to the Philippine display area at the Le Royal Hotel last 15 December 2007.

Prince Raad and his wife Princess Mazda bought several Philippine handicraft products.

Prince Raad is the Chairman of the Al-Hussein Society for the Rehabilitation of the Physically Challenged and is the patron of the annual charity bazaar to benefit the Society's disabled wards.

Several Embassies in the Kingdom and International Ladies Clubs participated in the charity event.

The DFA Ladies Association – Amman Chapter organized the Philippine participation. They were able to sell US$770.00 worth of Philippine products and handicrafts, including candle holders made of capiz shells, slippers made of abaca and rubber, jewelry cases made of shells, necklaces with wild boar's tooth pendant, etc.

Part of the net proceeds will be given to the Al Hussein Society while a bigger portion will be donated to the distressed OFWs temporarily staying at FWRC Amman. END
