RP EMBASSY IN OMAN HOLDS GRADUATION FOR HAIR
SCIENCE AND BEAUTY CULTURE

 

22 January 2008 – The Philippine Embassy in Muscat held a graduation program for the 6th Hair Science and Beauty Culture course for OFW’s in Oman on 18 January 2008.

The course aims to enhance the skills of OFW’s and enable them to augment their income or obtain higher-paying jobs.

The Philippine Ladies Group (PLG) in cooperation with POLO-OWWA offered classes which were held every Friday (Muslim “Sunday”) at the Embassy. The instructors/resource persons were Mr. J.C. Marcelino and Ms. Julie Villanueva.

Initiated in 2003, close to 200 OFW’s have graduated from this course. The 2008 batch was composed of 14 graduates who capped their training in a hairstyling and beauty culture showcase and competition.

Speakers during the event were Consul General MacArthur F. Corsino representing Ambassador Acmad D. Omar, DOLE Labor Attache Romeo Young, OWWA Welfare Officer Samuel Madrid, PLG Vice Chair Bernadette C. Corsino, and CEO Ross Comrack of Nawras Mobile Phone Co. who led the Board of Judges. END.
