PHILIPPINE CONSULATE GENERAL IN SHANGHAI COMMEMORATES THE 22nd ANNIVERSARY OF EDSA PEOPLE POWER REVOLUTION |

03 March 2008 - In commemoration of the 22nd Anniversary of EDSA People Power Revolution, Consul General Maria Rowena Mendoza Sanchez and the Philippine Consulate General Shanghai team held a simple rite on 25 February at the A. Mabini Conference Room of the consulate. The celebration commenced with the singing of the Philippine National Anthem followed by the Panunumpa sa Watawat and Panunumpa ng Kawani ng Gobyerno. Ms. Ma. Sheila Velarde (shown n left photo) read the EDSA ’08 Briefer of EPPC Comm. Alex R. Magno entitled “Reaffirming the Vision: A Community at Peace, A Nation in Progress. Afterwards, Ang Bayan Ko was sung.
The ceremony ended with the oath taking of Ms. Lorraine Tan, a naturalized Canadian citizen, to once again become a Philippine citizen before Consul General Sanchez (in right photo) under Republic Act 9225 otherwise known as Dual Citizenship Law. END |
