MARCH 4, 2008 GENEVA, SWITZERLAND—Secretary Alberto G. Romulo meets H.E. Jorge Sampaio, (former President of Portugal) now the Secretary General’s High Representative of the Alliance of Civilizations (AoC) during the Seventh Session of the Human Rights Council in Geneva. During the meeting, the Secretary and the High Representative exchanged views on strengthening links between the interfaith dialogue initiatives led by the Philippines with other U.N. partner nations and the Alliance of Civilizations, noting that the two share the same basic outlook and objectives in promoting understanding and securing peace and stability.
