14 March 2008 – Philippine Ambassador to Germany Delia Domingo Albert reported to the Department of Foreign Affairs that the Philippines once again participated in the annual Internationale Tourismus Borse (ITB) which was held from 5 to 9 March in Berlin.

The Philippine delegation was headed by DOT Undersecretary Eduardo Jarque, Jr.  and comprised of tour operators, representatives from hotels/resorts, airlines, and media.    The Philippine booth was well visited and participants reported that several important deals were sealed during the five-day event.  An added attraction to the Philippine booth were the daily performances of the Bayanihan National Folkdance Company.

The ITB is one of the most important international tourism fairs and represents the full spectrum of global tourism at all levels of the value-added chain like tour operators, booking systems, travel destinations, airlines, hotels and rental cars. END
