PHILIPPINE EMBASSY IN THE HAGUE HOSTS PHOTO EXPOSITION

BY FILIPINO DIPLOMATS

17 March 2008 - The Philippine Ambassador to The Netherlands Romeo A. Arguelles reported to the Department of Foreign Affairs on the opening of a photo exhibition entitled “Captured! Filipino Impressions of Europe,” at the ABC Treehut Gallery in The Hague.

The exhibition features the works of Consul General Meynardo Montealegre of the Philippine Embassy in Vienna, and Michael Yturriaga and Ma. Citadel Munoz-Cruz of the Philippine Embassy in the Hague.

In his speech, Ambassador Arguelles lauded the skill and creativity of the exhibitors even as he noted that this is the first time that the Philippine Embassy had sponsored an exhibition by “in-house” artists. The exhibit features over fifty images of various places in Europe captured in meticulous detail through the eyes of three Filipino diplomats.

Diplomats from Latin America, Europe and Asia were among the fifty guests that attended the opening.  The exhibition shall run until March 30, 2008.  Details of the exhibition may be found at the Philippine Embassy website, www.philembassy.nl. END
