Starring award-winning actress Maricel Soriano, “Inang Yaya” is an independent film that centers on Soriano’s character balancing her love and attention between the two special people in her life – her daughter and her ward.  The film has received many accolades from local and international award-giving bodies.

Co-director Pablo Biglang-awa and co-director and screenwriter Veronica Velasco accepted the award, which was given out during the festival’s closing ceremony last 13 March at the Cairo Opera House.

The 18th Cairo International Film Festival for Children, which was held on 06-13 March, aimed to sustain and encourage artistic films and programs that highlight the problems and issues faced by children and the youth. END
