FILIPINO-AMERICAN SERVICE GROUP HONORS LOS ANGELES MAYOR AND THREE FIL-AMERICAN LEADERS |

27 March 2008 – The Filipino-American Service Group, Inc. (FASGI) honored Los Angeles City Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa and three FilAm business and community leaders at a dinner program held at the Gene Autry Museum on 13 March 2008.
FASGI is a non-profit neighborhood-based health and human care provider located in Los Angeles. It was incorporated in 1981 and has grown into one of the leading independent providers of health and social services for low income Filipino American families in the Los Angeles county.
The honorees were Mayor Villaraigosa for the Leader of the Year award, and Filipino-American community leaders Vicente Ching for Community Service Leader of the Year; Melvin Avanzado for Advocate Leader of the Year, and Josie Jones for the American Dream award.
Mayor Villaraigosa commended FASGI for the services it provides the Filipino-American community. END.
